About Stoma World Kenya

Founded in 2010 by a group of ostomates who had experienced stigma and discrimination, Stoma World Kenya (SWK) is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for people living with stomas across Kenya. With over 600 members ranging from 4 to 80 years old, we provide essential support, advocacy, and resources for those with colostomy, ileostomy, and urostomy.

About Stoma World Kenya

Founded in 2010, Stoma World Kenya is dedicated to supporting ostomates throughout Kenya. Our organization provides psychosocial support, distributes stoma appliances, and advocates for better policies for those living with colostomies, ileostomies, and urostomies.

Our Stoma Clinic

Located at Guru Nanak Hospital in Nairobi, our stoma management clinic is the first of its kind in Eastern Africa. The clinic provides professional stoma management and advice from trained therapists for ostomates throughout the region.

Success Stories

Our Advocacy Work

Through persistent advocacy, we've achieved significant policy changes in Kenya. Stoma supplies are now included in the national health insurance, and persons with permanent colostomies are recognized as living with disabilities, qualifying for tax benefits.
