Stoma World Kenya
My name is Lilian Ruguru Njogu, and I am a proud member of Stoma World Kenya, currently serving as a volunteer Programs Coordinator. I am deeply passionate about improving the quality of life for all ostomates and strongly believe that no one should suffer stigma or discrimination because of their condition.
My journey in advocacy is personal—I have been a caregiver to my husband, who has lived with a stoma for over ten years. Walking alongside him has taught me resilience, compassion, and the importance of creating awareness around stomas. This experience has inspired me to organize and participate in awareness campaigns that aim to educate the public and support those living with ostomies.
I believe with all my heart that cancer is not a death sentence. Life does not end with a stoma—on the contrary, one can still live a full, meaningful, and high-quality life.
As both a caregiver and an advocate, I bring a unique perspective to the ostomy community. My personal experience with my husband's journey has given me deep insights into the challenges faced by ostomates and their families. I work tirelessly to ensure that every ostomate knows they are not alone and that they can live vibrant, fulfilling lives despite their condition.
